Queen of Acoustic Renditions
A Top 11 finalist of The Final One, Hashy was well-known to give songs a twist of her own on the show. Now, she is bringing it up to a whole new level by writing her own songs and looking to release an EP within a year.
“I really like lullabies – My friends usually tease me about how slow my songs can be,” Hashy said with a laugh.
“I’d describe my music as comforting, warm and relatable.”
The Final 1
Hashy shared with us that she joined the Final 1 for several reasons. Firstly, she only did gigs in school (Temasek Poly) and thought that if she made it through, she would have a stage to perform.
She added that the main reason was to see how far she could go in the competition.
“Basically, I wanted to try it out and that the exposure would be good for me,” Hashy explained.
In 5 years
Travelling around to share music, Growing as a musician and a singer, Staying grounded and enjoying music. These are the things Hashy would be doing in the next 5 years. We believe in her conviction after she told us this interesting snippet of herself – She joined the idol competition in secondary school for 3 years in a row because she only made it to the Top 10 for the first two.
“I refused to give up and won champion at the third try, never say die!” She explained with a laugh.
Guess we will see much more of Hashy in the future!
She is just 18, but has a well of experience when it comes to singing. She started singing with her family during karaoke sessions as a hobby and won her primary and secondary school idol competitions.
“I began to realise that it’s not just a hobby because I picked up the guitar and started writing,” Hashy said.
“I found my identity and what I want on my own, the passion kept growing!” She added.
