Recently, for some reason I've been thinking about Shanghai Jazz, the sepia-lit dance halls, the colourful cabarets, of tycoons and mobsters, of luxurious self-indulgence, an era long gone or is it?
Then I came across a post by local musician Dawn Wong, who is also a co-founder of a music production company, Hummingbird Concepts, announcing the launch of:

How did The Shanghai Jazz Club concept come about?
"We are constantly innovating and exploring different band concepts and the Shanghai Jazz concept is one the more popular concepts we came up with.
Creative director and Hummingbird Concepts founder/parter Felix Phang was responsible for this concept, from the music selection, to scoring, and putting the band together." says Dawn.
So if you're looking for something different for this year's annual dinner and dance or Wedding, a Shanghai themed concept would make for a refreshing change. The folks at Hummingbird Concepts can get quite busy during peak periods and it's best to contact them at least three months in advance.
Now, back to my cigar and cognac, amid the soulful strains of 玫瑰玫瑰我愛你 ... oh yes, I do love my weekends ...
