A young graduate of the Tokyo ZOKEI University, Yurie Fujiki delights in producing the most visually complex organic aggregations by building on simpler lines and patterns.
Her exhibition of prints and drawings “A FOREST IS MADE OF SMALL TREES” showcases exclusively at the Utterly Art Exhibition Space, 20B Mosque Street (Level 3), Singapore 059500 from THURSDAY 20th Sept to Sunday 30th September 2012.
I am really interested in expressing the energy of life.
It is always fascinating for me to look at the BIG forest made by small trees and grasses.
It is as if I gather all my drawing lines to create something alive in the picture.
Creating beautiful lines which become alive makes me really excited!
Yurie Fujiki's visually complex prints and drawings evolve with an accumulation of lines and marks, and an aggregation of a myriad organic enitities. The resultant gestalt coruscates with a new life bestowed by the artist's vivid imagination.
