In a little corner of Tokyo called Tama, there exists a cute restaurent selling…. CHICKEN RICE. Students going to Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (and those staying around the Fuchu area) take note,
You can now get Chicken Rice by walking about five minutes from school.
As soon as I found out about this new restaurant, I took two friends and went to try a whole bunch of dishes.
I know that being Singaporean, everyone is probably just interested in how the food is. So, here comes the food reviews:
Also, this was part of the ladies set, which meant that we didn’t have any choice over what came our way.
If you’re wondering, the yellow colour sauce looking thing is actually the chicken rice paste. The taste of Hainanese Chicken Rice is definitely there, but it’s a little bland. The Chicken was cooked correctly (it tastes like the Chicken in our Singapore Chicken Rice), but the rice was Japanese rice, which means that it was a bit too soft and mushy.
This shop is really new, and the chef and waitress are very welcoming. They gladly posed for a picture with me, and the chef even apologized for his messy appearance:
